Equity Advisory Committee (EAC)

The EAC will help the County integrate equity into its climate action and adaptation plans and projects by:

  • Advising advise staff on appropriate public outreach and communication methods;
  • Providing guidance, input and feedback on various planning efforts from the County, and perhaps by other public agencies, to inform goals and strategies;
  • Sharing information on County planning efforts with their communities; and
  • Encouraging community participation in community outreach events and potentially co-hosting events.


Meetings

The EAC meets bi-monthly on the second Wednesday.

Comité Asesor de Equidad 
El comite ayudará al Condado a integrar la equidad en sus planes y proyectos de adaptación y acción climática al:

  • Proveer asesoría r al personal sobre los métodos apropiados de comunicación y divulgación pública;
  • Proveer orientación, observacionesy comentarios sobre varios esfuerzos de planificación del Condado, y quizás de otras agencias públicas, para informar las metas y estrategias;
  • Compartir información sobre los esfuerzos de planificación del condado con sus comunidades; y
    Alentarla participación de la comunidad en eventos de alcance comunitario y eventos potencialmente co-anfitriones.

Reuniones
El Comite se reúne cada dos meses en el segundo miércoles del mes.

Provides a description of the populations and assets that will be evaluated in the vulnerability assessment. These include people, buildings and infrastructure, economic assets, ecosystems and natural resources, and key community services in the County of Santa Barbara that can be affected by climate change hazards.
